Census Training for Changlang District

Changlang March 29: The census training for Charge officers of Changlang district on Home Listing, Housing Census and National Population Register was conducted here at Changlang Hq today.

Deputy Commissioner, Changlang Dr S B Deepak Kumar, IAS while stressing on the importance of the census data for government for its policy makings urged all the Charge Officers be with the enumerators and Supervisors for the maximum possible time to avoid every possible errors.

Shri R K Manisana SI-Grade-I and Shri A Choudhary, S I, Grade-III both from Shillong attended the training as resource persons.

In another corner, about 30 members from Yangkang, Jongrom,Lainwang and kantang village along the Govt employees under Yatdam circle participated in a social service work initiated by All Tutsa Welfare Association on changlang-Khonsa road. This road is a life line of villages under Yatdam, a remote circle.

During a daylong social service the youths repaired the road at few points which were deteriorated by constant torrential rain at were difficult to ply even for motorcycle.

General Secretary (ATWA) Shri N Songthing informed that keeping the upcoming problems due to road communication during emergencies they organized the social service. He hoped that the service will benefit people from Yatdam area. (i/c DIPRO)

Conference Stresses on Decennial Census

Tezu March 29: District level conference training cum workshop of charge Officers cum CO/EAC of respective circles was held at Office chamber of Principal District Census cum Deputy Commissioner, Lohit District, Shri Kaling Tayeng on 23rd March last. While over the meeting the principal census Officer stressed on the importance of the decennial Census of the nation and had chalked out various important points and had thread bare discussion on coordination and smooth conduct of the national paramount gigantic task. Deputy Commissioner cum Principal census Officer, requested all the charge Officers to stick to the task ahead, sincerely and personally visit all the villages so that no household is left untouched and uncovered. Further, a three day training programme for master trainers of Lohit Anjaw , Tirap, Chnaglang and Dibang Valleys Districts was held at Officers Club, Tezu with effect from 23-03-2010 to 25-03-2010 . The training programme was supervised and presided over by the Shri Chou Tey Manlong, District Statistical Officer cum additional District Census Officer, Tezu. All together 26 masters trainers have attended the training successfully. Shri L. Kuwaor resource person form Guwahaty , along with Shri Pradip Deb, Senior Investigator from Directorate of Census Office Shillong , imparted the training for the first phase which is to be conducted for census house listing and the national Population Register from 15th April 2010 to 31st May 2010.(G. Census Training for Lower Subansiri and Kurung Kumey Districts completed

Ziro March 26: The district level training on House listing, Housing Census and National Population Register for two districts of Kurung Kumey and Lower Subansiri was jointly held in the DC's conference hall here today.

Underlining the importance of Census, the Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner-cum- Principal Census Officer, Sadhana Deori, asked the participants to take the training with utmost sincerity and seriousness so as to ensure an error-free census. She also asked the charge Officers, Supervisors and enumerators not to stray out of the framework of census enumeration to avoid legal complications in future. Census is a gigantic national programme involving every resident of India and any one drawn for it will be on a very important national duty. All the data collected are compiled at the national level and used to ensure that all the regions of the country get enough fund from Government of India under various social sectors. It is also important for delimitation of assembly constituencies, she added.

Deputy Director, Census Operations, Shillong, Bharati Chanda, in her key note address on various aspects of Census operations said Census though a very low key affair is very vast and important subject. Since, there is no provision for re-census even if there is wrong enumeration, we have to live with it for next ten years and stressed that every care should be taken to make the census error-free. Besides, accountability will be fixed on the enumerators if any wrong enumeration is detected, that is why extra care should be taken, she added.

District Statistics Officer, Nani Sambyo, in his welcome address also highlighted the importance of Census and the Training of officers for it.

The Training was attended by over 70 Administrative Officers and other government employees designated as Charge Officers, supervisors and enumerators and Para military personnel of Kurung Kumey and Lower Subansiri district for the coming House listing and Housing Census and National Population register from 15th April to 31st May next.
